Take advantage of the railway pass

A metropolitan infrastructure which currently has four stations:

Cannize
Catania Ognina
Catania Europa
Catania Centrale

The Passante-Metropolitana exchange takes place at the central station via Giovanni XXIII station. With the passer-by you can reach the village of San Giovanni Li Cuti through the station Europa and the village of Ognina through the station Ognina. The ticket, for a single ride, is 1.70 euros and the frequency is about 60 minutes.

Visit towns around mount etna using circumetnea

The railway line, which extends over a length of about 110 km, is the most impressive way to explore the typical villages around Mount Etna.

Departing from Catania Borgo station (last stop of Catania subway), Circumetnea stops at Misterbianco, Belpasso, Valcorrente, Giaconia, Paternò, Scalilli, S. Maria di Licodia, Biancavilla, Adrano, P. Zingaro, Bronte, Maletto, Randazzo, Calderara, Moio – P. Pisciaro, Solicchiata, Cerro, Linguaglossa, Terremorte, Piedimonte, S. Venera, Mascali, Cutula, Giarre, Riposto.

Catania is connected to other Sicilian cities through the national lines of Trenitalia. Connections to places not served by Trenitalia are however guaranteed by other public and private transport companies.
