The Bellini’s Garden is better known as Bellini’s Villa, in the eighteenth century it belonged to the important principles Biscari’s family, who gave it to citizenship in 1854.

It’s in the heart of Catania and you can come in from several sides, but the main entrance is located along the famous via Etnea.

It’s also dubbed the “labyrinth” for the long intersect avenues, the Bellini’s garden is a important botanical resource for the city, indeed, inside there are preserved many ancient and exotic types of plants.

We suggest you to walk along the illustrious men’s avenue, where at the end you can look at the Etna’s landscape from the highest peak in the Garden.

In the sixties a small zoo was built inside where were swans, monkeys, reptiles, snakes and the famous small Indian elephant donated to the city by Orfei’s Circus. Then, due to economic problems, the city decided to remove the zoological park and keep only the botanical garden.
