Bicycle lovers, here you can find paths designed for summer evenings.
An exciting tour of the city, accessible to all through the main streets and avoiding the steepest hills.
It starts from Piazza Duomo, pedaling along the historic Via Etnea and the elegant Viale XX Settembre to reach Piazza Europa, the crossroads of the suggestive city waterfront. Among monuments and buildings, do not miss the opportunity of a refreshing stop in one of the famous Catanese kiosks: Seltz Lemon and Salt or Green Mandarin with Lemon, the most popular drinks.
We start our journey from Piazza Duomo and continue along the Baroque Via Etnea, crossing Piazza Università, Piazza Stesicoro up to the elegant Villa Bellini. At this point, turn left along via Sant’Euplio and then right onto Viale Regina Margherita.
Continue straight on surrounded by the architectural beauties of viale XX Settembre and Corso Italia, go along the entire Corso and reach piazza Europa to see the seafront of Ognina with the characteristic lava stone rocks and the black sand of San Giovanni Li Cuti up to the old port of the city.
At the roundabout, go back and retrace the promenade until you reach Piazza Europa again, but this time continue along Viale Africa which is overlooked by the nineteenth-century "Le Ciminiere" building, now an exhibition center, up to the Central Station.
Then move to the left along via VI Aprile and continue straight ahead until you reach the ancient via Dusmet, easily recognizable by the presence of the mighty arches of the marina, pass Villa Pacini and complete the path crossing Porta Uzeda.
