Located in the suggestive and characteristic via Crociferi, it is considered by many to be the “pearl” of the eighteenth-century reconstruction of the city.

The Church of San Giuliano it’s located in the charming and characteristic via Crociferi, it’s seen by many as the “pearl” of the eighteenth century city’s reconstruction. Although this building is attributed to Vaccarini’s work and was probably built between 1739 and 1751.

The characteristic elements are the convex side in the middle, which generates vigorous light and shade, the doorstep decorated with white and black stones, and the dome surrounded by a portico, from which, according to tradition, the nuns of the city watched the procession during the feast of Sant'Agata.

The distinctive baroque broken pediment supports two allegorical figures of women. In the octagonal shaped interior are kept beautiful frescoes on the pavilion ceiling by Giuseppe Rapisarda from Catania (1842), Sant'Antonio Abate by Pietro Abbadessa (1648) and the Byzantine Crucifix painted on a shaped panel dating from the fourteenth century.
